Why the Top End is different
A Darwin coolroom works harder than one down south. Outside temperatures stay high all year and the Wet Season brings heavy humidity, so more heat flows through the walls and the refrigeration unit runs harder. Many Top End buyers price a thicker panel than they would in Adelaide – a room that might be 50mm down south is often worth pricing in 75mm in Darwin, especially for 24/7 use or full sun. Should I use 50mm or 75mm in Darwin?
Because of the constant tropical heat, many buyers price both. 75mm reduces heat gain and is used for freezers. Confirm with your refrigeration mechanic.
Can you send to remote NT sites?
