Chillers & cool rooms (0–5°C)
50mm EPS is the standard for commercial chillers — restaurants, cafes, florists, produce. Step to 75mm if the room is in full sun, or the door opens all day.
Freezer rooms (down to −18°C)
Freezers need more than thickness — they need a better core. Our 100mm PIR is genuinely freezer-grade and holds −18°C reliably.
Cold storage & food handling
Sealed steel skins wipe down clean and give no home to bacteria — which is exactly what a food-safety audit is looking for. Coving the floor junction removes the corner entirely.
The commercial mistake we see most often: speccing a chiller panel and later needing a freezer. Going from 0°C to −18°C is not a matter of turning the dial down — the envelope has to hold it, or the plant simply runs forever and your power bill tells the story. If the room might ever become a freezer, build for it now. Re-panelling a working cold room later means shutting the business down while you do it.
